As I finished my very muggy three mile walk yesterday morning, I was hot and sweaty and climbing into my car when a pickup load of 20-something year old young men drove by. They hung out the open windows and pointed and called out wolf-whistles. I glanced around and didn’t see anyone else in the area and thought, “What is their problem?” It has been over 20 years since anyone other than Gene has directed a whistle my way.

Then I realized that they were pointing and whistling at my new car. I couldn’t help but laugh. That is the third time someone has done a double take at my new Genesis G80 and it always throws me since I’m not really into cars. When Gene got home and I told him the story, he doubled over laughing, and said, “You’re welcome!” (since he picked out the car for me.) I remember when we were first married, whenever Gene would whistle and point, I never had to worry that it would be at a good-looking woman . . . it was always a car. Good to have job security!
