I recently got a notice that my work email had been Pwned. (You can check any email at: https://haveibeenpwned.com which is a free resource for anyone to quickly assess if they have been put at risk due to an online account of theirs having been compromised or “pwned” in a data breach) Just after I got the notice, my email provider emailed me and made me change my password, so I know the alert was real. The breach was low level, meaning the people who hacked into whatever site it was, just stole email addresses so they could send a bunch of spam.
The result is that in the past two weeks, I’m getting some . . . um interesting . . . solicitations. Unfortunately they are all from women, so I’m not really interested, ha. I told Gene about being pwned and the rather risqué content of the emails while we were traveling, and we had a good laugh. When we got home and he collected the mail, he said, “Not only have you been pwned, but now they are shipping you naughty stuff.” I looked at the package he was holding and died laughing. It was from Vim & Vigor . . . wait for it . . . the business I ordered support hose from. So funny! My life is always entertaining.
