Laughs After Cancer

Known Traveler Number

Note: I'm posting this on a Saturday to give myself a head start on evading questioning. Shortly after we moved to rural Benton County, the local newspaper printed a series of articles about disaster preparedness. The premise of the article was that if there was a...

The first time someone told me I could write I was in 8th grade and my English teacher recommended me for Advanced English. She told me that I had a gift for writing. She also assigned me to be the sports editor for the school newspaper for my 9th grade year.  I was...

The Road to Hana

I think I will stick with my theme of travel stories this week, since we are all sheltering at home and dreaming of our next adventure. Once again, my travel enthusiasm got the better of us. Several years ago, my husband and I traded the cold Iowa winter for a week in...

Jurassic Park

Jurassic Park

There is a part of our yard where the grass meets the woods that I respectfully refer to as Jurassic Park. I say respectfully, because things cross into there and don’t come out again. We have lost bird feeders, shovels, potted plants and other items to the abyss. I...

Virginia Gay Hospital Gifts of Hope provides free mammograms and diagnostic services and is supported by the Benton County Survivors Group; and the Hall-Perrine Hope Fund helps cancer patients pay for emergency needs.
